Full bar and cocktails are awesome. Try the old fashioned!
Yes. Fish and vegetables (and wine).
It is possible to park on the street.
Under the course of Mount Royal
Always a superb meal here! The fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The service is friendly and fast! My favourite dish here is the gaspacho and risotto! Our waiter is exceptional and very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back again!
The service was incredible. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, funny yet also professional. The food was great. The seasoning was spot on and the “cuisson†on everything was perfect. Eager to go back to try the 10pm dining experience.
Not really delicious. But excellent service but very expensive. Inside decoration is not beautiful as outside.
Great place for seafood in Montreal. Food was delicious and service was impeccable. We got the octopus as a starter. It was roasted well and extremely tender. In addition to the the appetizer, we received complementary bread with cod cakes, olive oil, olive tapenade, and house made cheese. We split a whole black bass that was perfectly cooked and cleanly deboned at the table. I would absolutely recommend this place.
Great dining experience at Ferreira Café! I visited with my family and we were initially pleased with the layout and vibe of the restaurant. We had a view of the open kitchen, and I enjoyed the energy that radiated from the space. I opted to share two appetizers and a main with my brother. The charred octopus on hommos and burrata salad arrived first, and both were excellently prepared. The octopus was smoky and crisped up, and the accompanying sauce added a nice earthiness to the dish. The salad was also a hit, with crisp and nutty salad leaves that brought the best out of a creamy burrata. We especially enjoyed the presentation of the main's, which were brought in individual casseroles and served tableside. The seafood stew was excellent, with a nice array of fresh seafood. The desserts were fun, although a warm Pasteis de Nata was the only star. I would keep Ferriera Cafe for a special event, and it's become my go to high end Portuguese spot.
This place is fantastic. The calamari and octopus starters are a must have. Suggest ordering family style for the main course sampling fish, shellfish and beef options. Tremendous.
We went to Ferreira Cafe after 10pm to try out their late night menu. I absolutely love the atmosphere here. The food was surprisingly amazing and well presented. Staff were nice and professional.
Some places offer good services and some places offer good food. This restaurant offers the both. Yes, it's an expensive restaurant but it's worth paying for such delicious food and excellent service. The wild catch fish is must try item. The signature cocktails were good as well. The appetizer Grilled Octopus was too good but little in quantity. Still it was a great experience.
What can I say about the restaurant "outstanding" this is the jewel amongst all Portuguese restaurants in Montreal and its up there for best in Montreal. Service and Food are fantastic. We were a group of 6 the got of a round table and we had a great time. Highly recommend...
We were looking for a good seafood restaurant. This restaurant was highly rated, so we gave it a try. Great atmosphere. Very good service. Loved watching our server de-bone my wife's fish with a hand full of spoons. Excellent dining experience.
A must go here restaurant! The food is awesome, staff is amazing and ambiance is memorable. If I could have eaten more I would have, their menu is delicious. Leave room for desert and one of their proud selection of ports.
Big dissatisfaction on an anniversary day!!!!!The front desk lady’s actions were not acceptable to me. We entered at 12:30ish and asked for a table for two but there was none so we waited. And then three girls came in asking if there was a table for them. The front desk lady took their name down and asked them to wait. After ten minutes, she sat those girls. When I asked why we did not get our table first, she said that they came before us at 12:45. But I do remember when she asked for the girls’ name while i was waiting. Huge disappointment. Would never come again.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Impeccable in every aspect with service to boot. Definitely a must go restaurant for any occassion.
Delicious food: had yhe Octopus to start and Duck Leg with Risotto for the main. The service was truly exceptional. Equal to the best service I've had anywhere. Thank you!
Decided to go with the Valentine's day prix fixe for dinner on Friday. Amuse, appetizers, and entrees very well received -- a lot of rich flavours and textures. I did find, however, that the chocolate mousse dessert was a little heavy and not well balanced (too rich). Overall, a great meal, and I would have to say the black cod dish was my absolute favourite. Hope I'll get the chance to dine here again the next time I'm in Montreal!
Definitely the gem of the Montreal Portuguese cuisine!Been here several times and the quality is always there. Service is too notch, constant awareness by the waiting staff align with the managers who make sure to visit every table during the service.Seafood is King here, so make sure to have your fair share. Wine menu is quite wide and the house wines (they also have a reserve wine from their vineyard in Portugal) are delicious. Don't miss their break and olive oil!The atmosphere is amazing, except for the music choice which was too modern and loud in my opinion (not what you expect to hear in a Portuguese restaurant).
Absolutely amazing! While visiting Montreal my wife and I made a friend who is from Portugal during one of those pub crawls. We decided to get dinner and he suggested this place. It was absolutely delicious.First the staff and service was fantastic. Very professional and helpful. Even the manager came over to ensure we were having a good meal. We occupied the table for a couple hours and not once did I ever feel rushed. The food was indescribable. Everything was incredibly fresh and cooked perfectly. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. It's very authentic and cooked to perfection.
Cafe Ferreira. Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Montreal. Peel Street. We dinned yesterday, and we are delighted by the food, service and unique atmosphere and mood. One of the best places in Montreal and best ambiance thank to Pascal and everybody else who was working on October 25, 2019. Delicious!
It was a fancy restaurant but I had high expectations that were not met. The decor is renovated and modern, with an open kitchen which is reassuring and a fun concept. The service was great, the waiter knew the description of each dish very well, and the manager was supervising each table making sure everything was served chronologically. They even put the napkins on our lap. The menu was limited, but still had options. It’s on the pricier side: ~20$ for appetizers and ~40-55$ for mains. I took their specialty, the black cod for $55. It was delicious, but maybe not worth the price. The size of the mains were quite filling so a meal can be shared if you aren’t a big quantity eater. My friends all enjoyed their dishes and the appetizers. The desserts: the natas were the best choice! The chocolate mousse was too rich, even if shared amongst 4 people. Overall a good experience!
SIX STARS! That is what this place deserves. The service level at this place was second to none. My colleague ordered a medium well steak; it came medium rare. The waiter swooped in as soon as it was cut to fix the problem. Don't even know where he came from. Amazing. The food was lights out good. The waiter went out of his way to make sure I had the whisky I liked bringing me multiple bottles to ensure. The decor and ambiance was true Montreal. Relaxed, cool and modern. I do apologize to the Francophone staff for making them speak English. Sorry. Best place I have been in a long time. Wonderous!
Beautiful restaurant with excellent service and amazing food! Tastes just like the meals my husband and I had when we traveled to Portugal last summer. Would definitely recommend!
The entrees were amazing! Crispy Calamari on Black Pea Hummus (pictured) and the Roast Sardines with Fluer De Sel were a great start. The wife chose the house favorite fire over 30 yards now, the Porcini Crusted Sea Bass over Mashed Potatoes while I went with the whole Grilled Sea Bass with Rice Salad and Grilled Vegetables. The fish was deboned tableside and served with a bright, acidic salsa that went so well with the fish grilled with only salt, pepper, and olive oil seasoning. I haven't had fish prepared so well in any of my travels. We finished the evening with a Pear poached in white port, stuffed with vanilla bean ice cream, served atop a chocolate mousse with the types of crumble.
A beautiful restaurant. We had clams in white wine as appetizer, and risotto with lobster in black squid ink and shrimp on top. Clams and especially the risotto was unbelievably amazing. Risotto was special only offered that day. My friend had the bouillabaisse, but it was too fishy.Tip: they have have late dinner entrees for $30 after 10pm.
Just AMAZING!!! service and quality of food is out of this world. Ambience is very chick
What a great experience overall. Hospitality, good, wine. Brilliant! Would drive to Montreal just to eat here
Gorgeous Portuguese restaurant. Beautiful spot, amazing service and wonderful dishes. Perfect for a special occasion.
Ferreira is fantastic. I've been going to this place for years and I've always enjoyed it. I always start with Oysters, and then usually share several starters with friends.
One of my favorite cafes in downtown! Great place for a quick bite, coffee, or lunch! Mr. Ferreira is a nice person also!
Amazing service and food
I had the octopus appetizer that was very good. The black cod was also very good. The potato puree was excellent. My wife's desert was not very good but mine was really good. The pear sorbet and caramel fondant. Sweet and salty, crunchy, smooth. A lot going on and it all worked very well together.
Make a reservation. Place gets filled up easily. Amazing seafood concoctions.
Overall experience was great. The fish was fresh and cooked on point. Some of the oysters weren't cleaned properly but our waiter replaced them with new ones right away. Service is slow so expect a 2 hour experience, but it's very worth it. I do not recommend if you're in a rush. Will definitely go back eventually.
Phenomenal food, setting, and service! The place looks great, very classy and lots of little details. I had the best sea bass of my life, but I ordered rice (which is free) and it came a few minutes late. They responded by giving us a huge platter of free dessert and tea completely on their own, without so much as a complaint from us. Very friendly staff, everyone is smiling and ready to provide great service. Kind of expensive but that’s price of quality! Worth every penny. I would definitely recommend.
One of the places in Montreal with the best quality of food and best service. Can be expensive depending on what you get. I don’t eat seafood and not a big fan of fish so I get the risotto which is amazing. I hate cooking risotto and their risotto is the best and very good price compared to the rest of the menu. I like to go there just for the risotto , the vegetarian one changes daily and everything is fresh. They will also accommodate any allergies or intolerances .
I’ve been many times to Montréal, but somehow I’ve missed this gem. Happened to walk in for dinner. And glad I did. Amazing, fantabulously presented delicious food!!! A warm and friendly welcome with fantastically SUPERB customer service!!!Thank you Carlos (owner), João (exec.chef) and Alex & Catherine (staff). I had such a great night!
This restaurant is definitely worth it's salt in every aspect from food quality, staff service to ambience. Each of the food was absolutely tasty and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. We couldn't ask for anything more. They even gave us an additional half dozen of oysters when they made a small mistake of serving it later than the rest of the appetisers. Top service quality! A must try when in Montreal!
Excellent food. Fun atmosphere - especially seated in front of the kitchen area where you could watch the hustle and bustle and see them prep all the different dishes of food headed for other tables. I had the special that evening, which was a poutine topped with chunks of lobster prepared in a dark bisque. It was interesting and was good - but the star of the evening was the sauteed shrimp appetizer in a garlic sauce. Whole succulent shrimp with a sauce so good I mopped it up with sliced bread.
Wonderful service, the food is immaculate. Beautiful decoration. Overall, I had a great experience.
Absolutely blown away by the seafood here! I had the fish and seafood bouillabaisse and man, I cleared a whole basket of bread dipping into the stew and still could NOT stop spooning at it. The salmon was cooked perfectly, almost raw inside just how I like it, pretty much melts in your mouth. Prawns, clams, squid, all fresh and amazing. The roasted sardine filets also made a great appetizer. Pricey, but worth it.
OMG where should we start.. from the exceptional welcoming from all staff... checking of our coats... warm and wonderful personal visit to the table from the director... the utmost professional service from Alexis - who should actually be an official trainer for wait staff in the hospitality industry. His charisma and attention to delivering the finest in culinary taste sensations was an absolutely extraordinary experience. We look forward to visiting this gem of a top notch restaurant every year when visiting from Toronto. Ferreira's excels at doing it right!
Great restaurant. Lovely seafoods and awesome service.
Wonderful service. I order a medium rare steak. But half of them were medium well. So I told waiter, they changed that right aways. Then I was sharing my wife's plate while waiting. The waiter realized the time might took little longer, he offered me a beer. And desert at the end. The manager there was super nice too. They did really care about the dining experience. It could tell from the conversation and the attitude.
Excellent place. I don't have right words to describe quality of this place. A bit pricy, but food and service are outstanding. Highly recommend Ferreira for dinner
Fresh everything. Fish is amazing and that little thing if rice that came with the seafood for two was so yummy. I had some.of the freshest oysters here, truly incredible. For dessert, the Portuguese custard IS A MUST no matter how full you are! The coffee is freaking amazing. I can see why this restaurant is rated as some of the best Portuguese restaurants in the world. A must when in Montreal.
Food is perfect! Service is the best, the waiter are so handsome! Highly recommend to come. Price a little high. Just order typical food of this restaurant is fine, around $55. Wine is expensive as I wish, but you need
I hold my company dinner every year. Great service, food is awesome and they have a large wine selection as well. Looking forward to this years party again.
Awesome meal, everything was super fresh and tasted exceptional. Make sure to try the blackened cod, however everything we ate was delicious. The service was incredible too, even though it was packed all the food came within minutes of eachother.
Great Portuguese Restaurant. Went for a family Lunch. They have a 2 meals Lunch menu starting at 25$. Usually go for dinner, but this time decided to try the Lunch Menu. The food is very good and Carlos Ferreira was there having lunch. Both the appetizer and main were delicious. The staff is professional, attentive and friendly. Mr. Ferreira knows how to run his business. It worth to have a Lunch, Dinner or a glass at the bar. Also Mr. Ferreira has his own wine and Olive oil from his Quinta in the Douro. The products are available at his restaurant.
Wow 🤯! What a great restaurant!Everything was perfect 👌!Hard to say what they could improve. The service is great, the staff is helpful and gentil. The food is amazing, really brings you to Portugal 🇵🇹!The price is fair for the quality! The ambience is cozy, modern and the amount of noise is just precise, you can listen to the background music and have a conversation with your voice at the regular level!I will certainly be back!
Such a beautiful place with cozy environment, great knowledgeable customer service, the best seafood in town and excellent choices of wine. A piece of art located on the wall made out of plates looks really cool. No wheelchair access WC.
